Indiana farmland rents dropping?

Farmland rents in Indiana might be on the decline if Monday's bidding to rent publicly owned farmland is an indicator. Wayne County farmer Gary Dare's rental bid of $180 per acre was the high bid to farm 64 acres owned by the Union County Redevelopment Commission in 2009. Dare's bid was $40 an acre less than his successful bid of $220 an acre last year to rent county-owned farmland.
