Police seek witnesses to railway bridge crash

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a car was in collision with a railway bridge in a village near Wem. The crash happened just after 8pm on Thursday on the B5476 at Harmer Hill, when the driver of a blue Ford Fiesta collided with the stone wall of the railway bridge.

AN 85-YEAR-OLD Wem woman who fell victim to a bogus ‘water board’ official has had her stolen money replaced by the police. Great-great-grandmother Mrs Elsie Quelch, of Wem had £100 stolen from her purse by a man who knocked on her door pretending to be from the water authority.
