Dec. skies offer unique opportunities

With cold weather and snow apparently coming early this year, it becomes compelling to discuss the winter stars and constellations. Rising in the East, around 8 p.m. is a group of bluish stars forming a small, fuzzy dipper just above the V-shaped constellation of Taurus.
