Germany takes three medals on first day of Beijing Paralympics

Germany has won three medals on the first day of the Beijing Paralympics. Target shooter Manuela Schmermund took silver in the 10-metre air-rifle discipline. Swimmer Maria Goetze won silver in the 200 metres backstroke event. The women's favourite for Judo, Carmen Brussig, came away with a bronze.
