No more closure of Parliament road

Roads leading to Parliament will not be closed in future during sessions since security has improved, Police spokesman SSP Ranjith Gunasekera said. He said that Parliament roads were closed during Parliament sessions due to the security threat to Ministers and MPs and VIPs attending Parliament.

W. C. B. Fernando Puttalam group corr. A group of 14 treasure hunters who pleaded guilty before Puttalam District Judge and Magistrate Sesiri Herath were fined Rs. 50,000 each and in addition sentenced to a term of one year’s imprisonment suspended for five years.
