RTE has appointed a new managing director of radio to run both its analogue and its new digital services. A native of Dublin, she joined the national broadcaster in 1977 after graduating from UCD in history and politics.
Students lead in crime prevention

The University City District has been asked to assist the Local Initiative's Social Corporation to come up with a large crime prevention plan for the area. Assistant Professor Robert Stokes met with the UCD over the summer and asked them if they had any issues with which Drexel Students could help.

The body of missing UC Davis Professor Richard L. Walker, Jr. was recovered late Monday afternoon after it washed ashore at the Salmon Creek State Beach in Bodega Bay. Davis Police Lt. Thomas Waltz reported early today that Walker apparently committed suicide.
