Japan Autos Report Q2 2010 - New Market Report Published

Japan's new vehicle sales fell to the lowest level in 38 years in 2009, despite a late rally kick-started by government incentives to encourage sales of new more fuel-efficient vehicles in Japan which contributed to a fourth straight month of growth in December 2009. Total vehicle sales, including mini-vehicles under 660cc, rose 21.6% year-on-year (y-o-y) for the month to 372,608 units.

Genzyme Corp. and Isis Pharmaceuticals Inc. today announced that the phase 3 study of mipomersen in patients with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (heFH) met its primary endpoint with a highly statistically significant 28 percent reduction in LDL-cholesterol after 26 weeks of treatment, compared with an increase of 5 percent for placebo.
