Snowmaking begins in Big Bear

Beginner areas at Snow Summit and Bear Mountain are turning white. The resorts started making snow Dec. 3 for about seven hours during the night. Plans are to continue snowmaking during the next several nights at those areas and opening the beginner chairlifts as soon as possible.

Stagnant air advisory issued

Wenatchee - The National Weather Service has issued an advisory for stagnant air across much of Eastern Washington until Monday. The agency is reporting that dense fog and high pressure will cause a strong temperature inversion, resulting in very little air movement.
