GM drops plans to introduce Pontiac G8 ST

General Motors has announced that it is canceling its plans to introduce the Australian-built Pontiac G8 ST coupe utility vehicle to the US market in fall 2009, in a bid to refocus the companys efforts on transforming Pontiac into a niche brand as part of its wider cost cutting drive.

Pontiac G8 ST Dead, Officially

DETROIT — Pontiac made official today that it has cancelled the G8 ST quasi pickup truck that was to go on sale later this year. Pontiac spokesman Jim Hopson acknowledges that the company announced the death of the Australian import at a dealer meeting earlier today.
