House 135-18, Senate 33-4, overrode Gov. Patrick's $145,824 veto reduction (from 985,824 to 840,000) in funding for the Massachusetts Correctional Legal Services Committee to provide civil legal assistance to inmates who have problems with their treatment in the state's prisons. Supporters of keeping the $145,824 said that it is important to provide legal services to poor people in jail.

Somerville's state legislators unanimous on child abuse bill
