Colibacillosis - E. coli - Colibacillosis usually occurs in calves 1-10 days old. Typically, calves out of first calf heifers are more susceptible. Other associated factors include seasonal variation, overcrowding and poor sanitation which allow build up of organisms in calving pens.

Nov 26, 2008 (CIDRAP News) – A widely publicized Salmonella outbreak that was linked to frozen pot pies last year involved 401 cases in 41 states and put more than 100 patients in hospitals, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said today in a final report on the episode.
WEDNESDAY, Nov. 26 (HealthDay News) -- A salmonella outbreak across dozens of states last year was caused by microwaveable frozen pot pies that weren't properly cooked, the U.S. government reported Wednesday.
