A farmer in Israel is hoping his colossal cucumber gets him into the Guiness Book of World Records.
(IsraelNN.com) Petah Tikva resident Yitzhak Yazdanpana has set the new world record for growing the longest cucumber. Working out of his home garden, Yazdanpana grew a three-foot, ten-inch long cucumber (about 117 cm).
The city of Petah Tikva acted in bad faith when collecting taxes, Tel Aviv District Court judge Varda Alshech ruled yesterday.

Bank Hapoalim said yesterday it raised NIS 1.7 billion in an offering of capital notes. The bank sold NIS 1.3 billion to institutional investors and the rest to the general public. In total it has raised NIS 3.3 billion in June as part of a plan to boost its capital adequacy ratio.
