LOS ANGELES----AMERICAN BUSINESS BANK today reported net income of $1,676,000 for the second quarter 2009, a 27% increase over the $1,317,000 earned in the second quarter of 2008. Earnings per share in the second quarter 2009 increased to $0.46 versus $0.37 in the second quarter 2008.
IndusInd Bank, a private sector new-age lender, reported a more than four-fold increase in net profit to Rs 86.5 crore year-on-year for the quarter ended June 30, 2009, aided by a healthy show in treasury income.

Standard Chartered Bank, India's largest international bank, on Tuesday announced a profit after tax of Rs 1,907 crore for the financial year 2008-09 (April-March), recording a growth of 12 % on year. The total income of the bank grew by 22 % to Rs 8,747 crore, backed by a 33 % growth in non-interest income.
MUMBAI: Standard Chartered Bank India, has clocked a 12 per cent growth in its profit after tax at Rs 1,907 crore for FY 09 while its income grew 22 per cent at Rs 8,747 crore in the same period.
