Index shows economy down

An economic index for the Mid-America region plunged to a record low in November, while Oklahoma's numbers improved somewhat. The Mid-America Business Conditions Index, which covers a nine-state region, slumped to 37.8 from 39.9 in October. An index of 50 is considered growth-neutral.
