Knee surgery almost certain

Q: I am a 28-year-old runner and basketball player who has had pain in my right knee for a couple of months. I'm not really sure how I hurt it. It sometimes clicks and catches and swells a little bit. I saw a doctor who ordered an MRI scan and said that I had a medial meniscal tear and would need surgery. Are there any other options?
