MCU maker Weltrend 2Q09 revenues up 25%

Microcontroller unit (MCU) design house Weltrend Semiconductor saw June revenues increase 10% sequentially to NT$160 million (US$4.86 million) and second-quarter revenues rise 25% sequentially to NT$478 million, thanks to recovered demand for digital TV (DTV) MCUs and panel related products.

Weltrend readies to ship motor drivers for notebooks

Microcontroller unit (MCU) design house Weltrend Semiconductor is sampling its three-phase motor drivers for notebook applications with customers, with volume shipments slated for the third quarter, according to the company. The new product line is expected to be Weltrend's major growth driver in the second half of the year.
