The index after trading in a directionless manner rebounded and a touched a high of 13,897. The IT stocks continue to trade firm. Infosys and Wipro have surged nearly 4.5% each to Rs 1,7257 and Rs 388, respectively. TCS has gained 2.5% to Rs 398.
At 14:08 hours IST - the benchmark indices gained some strength despite volatility. Buying in technology, realty, metal and select banking stocks along with L&T, Tata Motors and Reliance Communication. The market breadth also improved; about 751 shares advanced while 452 shares declined.
