Local Habitat, Alter Commons projects build green, affordable homes

The metro area is getting some green homes, with at least two different projects in the works. Habitat for Humanity, which built 14 green homes last year, is now building six, two in Detroit and four in Pontiac. The homes will be 5+ Star Energy Rated and Michigan Green Built certified, said Scott Losey, construction director.
