Newport News police charge woman shot by officer

NEWPORT NEWS Police have charged a woman shot by an officer last month with maiming, attempted wounding of a law enforcement officer and using a knife during a felony. On Nov. 15 at 1:30 a.m. police responded to a violent argument between a man and a woman in the 400 block of Youngs Mill Lane, according to police.
