Parvo shuts down shelter

The Humane Society of North Central Iowa is closing its doors for a week in an effort to control a virus outbreak in its dogs. Parvovirus has appeared in nine of its younger dogs, two of which died from the disease Thursday. The organization is warning the public that an outbreak has occurred in the community.
