City cuts spare Queens Community House

More than 230 swimmers are expected to participate, including members of the local Magic Valley Marlins. Today's action starts at 5 p.m., while swimming begins at 9 a.m. both Saturday and Sunday. Admission is free.

Churchill High School’s University Interscholastic League (UIL) academic team placed fourth in the Class 5A meet May 25 and 26 at the University of Texas in Austin. Churchill earned a total of 60 points. Lee High School earned 12 points.

High school grad exam to be given at JHS

The Alabama High School Graduation Exam (AHSGE) will be administered at the Jackson High School Auditorium the week of Monday, July 20 through Friday, July 24. The summer administration is for all rising seniors in the county who still need one or more parts of the exam and for former students who may still need a portion of the exam.

Dickinson signs with LBW

Jackson High School shortstop/pitcher Chad Dickinson signed with Lurleen B. Wallace Tuesday, July 7 at a ceremony at JHS. Dickinson transfered to Jackson after being an three-time All-State player at Clarke Prep. During his senior year at JHS, he led the team with a .478 batting average.
