North Liberty Bank Robbed

JOHNSON COUNTY - For the second time in two months, the Midwest One Bank in North Liberty was robbed today. Bank officials tell TV9 the suspect entered the bank around 3:15 p.m. Friday afternoon and demanded cash.

NEWTON (AP) - Newton-based Iowa Telcommunications Services Inc. says it has agreed to buy Sherburne Tele Systems Inc. for more than $80 million. The deal is subject to regulatory approvals and is expected to close in the first half of 2009.

DES MOINES (AP) - Police have found the parents of a 3-year-old girl found in Des Moines outside without a coat and only one shoe. The girl was found walking Friday about 7:30 a.m., a time when the temperature in Des Moines was 10 degrees.
Three Arrested After Anhydrous Theft

Three people in Cedar Rapids are facing charges after the Linn County Sheriff's office got a call about a possible theft of anhydrous November 19th. Deputies responded to 4045 North Center Point Road at about 10:30am Wednesday morning.

CEDAR RAPIDS - Are you ready to get out those shovels? Last year the city had to clean about 150 sidewalks. They say that is twice as many as usual. With each walk, they charged the homeowner at least $150, the standard rate.
