MINNEAPOLIS — Minnesota has been an unofficial testing ground for using ethanol to fuel vehicles, but after years of steady increases, interest appears to be waning.
Energy Minister says the oil fund was not the cause of the increase in retail prices. The ministry will slow down collections on the funds with expectation that the prices in the country will be reduced as well. Meanwhile, contracts on NYMEX crude oil went down by 14 cents.

New gasoline and diesel pumps are cranking out fuel at the Lawrence Service Area along the Kansas Turnpike, ending a six-month drought brought on by a multimillion-dollar upgrade.
While the state of Minnesota has been considered a testing ground of sorts when it comes to a market for E85, in recent months the state has seen E85 sales drop and a handful of pumps come off line, according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune in Minneapolis, Minn.
A goal of 1,800 E85 pumps in the state by 2010 looks out of reach. The number of E85 pumps has declined from 360 to 351.
