High water bill charges prompt queries

Selectmen gave a resident a discount of nearly 90 percent on his water bill last week after he complained his charge came in at more than $4,000. The board had seen similar unusually high bills in the past, and this time the customer, Daniel Kaplan, received an abatement. Kaplan's complaint was the fourth heard by selectmen since May 2008.
