Crab Orchard - Catfish are the best bet. Anglers are catching good numbers of fish on cut baits, cheese baits and night crawlers. Some flatheads are being caught on small sunfish and cut bait. Crappie are being caught in fair numbers, although most fish are running small. Crappie are suspended in deep areas. Minnows and jigs are equally effective. CELEBRATE If you see professional fireworks over Bluffton tonight, they’re probably coming from private shows at Sun City, Berkeley Hall or Colleton River Plantation. We’re told that you can see all sorts of fireworks from the Sawmill Creek boat landing, especially those from Colleton River and maybe some from Parris Island.

Let me share a little good news before getting deeper into this report. The state of North Carolina is suspending the requirement for fishing licenses on July the Fourth to celebrate the birth of our country. This is for both saltwater and freshwater fishing.
