Alpena mall's cash value set at $5.2 million

By SEAN HARKINS News Staff Writer Alpena Township and the Alpena Mall have reached an agreement after the mall contested its taxable value. The true cash value of the mall was set by the township at $5.2 million. Alpena Township Assessor Kris Lewis said the mall had a market analysis done by a company that buys and sells malls, and it showed the mall could have sold for $2.4-$2.8 million.
