Calf surgery to sideline Defoe

Portsmouth striker Jermain Defoe expects to be sidelined for around a month as he continues to be troubled by a nagging calf injury. The 26-year-old limped off during England's 2-1 win in Germany in midweek and missed Pompey's 2-2 draw with Hull City on Saturday.
