Q: I want to know something about the World War II unit portrayed in the movie about the red ball. I can’t think of the movie’s name but the unit carried ammunition to Patton’s army. The movie portrayed the unit with white soldiers but wasn’t it a black unit?

What happened: The board voted 4-1 to table consideration of a convenience store and subdivision on Black Bridge Road until the matter could be reviewed by Storm Water Administrator Melanie Clerkley to ensure it meets stormwater specifications. Commissioner Tonzie Collins voted no.

Dear Debbie: We live in the country in a small, cozy home and are fixing it up slowly, as we like to do the work ourselves and don't have a lot of money. We had to replace the old claw-foot bathtub (the inside was cracked and gross), and bought one that has the outside you can paint over.
